weldless ball valve install???

How high or low should you drill the hole to install a 1/2 weldless valve? any rule of thumb? or just what ever floats your boat?

Are you using dip tubes? If so, put it at whatever height works for the tubes. Otherwise, put it a little off the bottom to keep the flames at bay. I use kegs with dip tubes, my valves are approx 5 inches off the bottom of the keg.

My old Morebeer pot has a valve about 2 inches off the bottom.
