So I have the opportunity to pick up a Vissani 52 bottle wine rack for 139 and was wondering if it would make a good fermentation chamber. Seeing as it is normally used as a wine chiller, could I adjust the temperature control to ferment beer?
Most definitely. I use a magic chef wine cooler I got off of craigslist for $30 as a kegerator. It should easily hold the temps you need to ferment.

It will work for ales, but my wine cooler doesn't get cold enough to lager.
I got the exact one scratch and dent for 89 bucks. 48 hours later it would not go below 54 degrees and had to go back. I was attempting a kegerator.
