Default Temp Controller for Fermentation Chamber

Hello All, This is my first post. I am getting ready to do my first brew. However i live in phoenix AZ. Therefor before i start brewing i need to get the temperature management of a fermentation chamber under control. I am looking to use a mini fridge and build on an insulated plywood cabinet. my issue is finding a digital temp controller to wire into an existing fridge and for making a tap system down the road a chest freezer.

I am reaching out to everyone here for suggestions as to with is the best. any input is greatly appreciated.

You don't need to do any wiring. Just get one of these: http://morebeer.com/view_product/166...roller_-_Wired

works great. Just tape the probe to the side of the fermenter with a thick piece of folded paper towel or something similar between the probe and the tape for insulation. Welcome to the forum!

I would suggest the ebay aquarium controller if you are DIY inclined. It really is an easy build. It also gives you the flexibility to heat OR cool without having to manually change it. It's also significantly cheaper. You can build 3 of them for the price of the Ranco.

I am very DIY capable and the eBay controller route is where I was directing my question. More along the lines of what brand & or model #

I am assuming these will require relays to control a refrigerator?

buy the STC-1000 from ebay make sure you buy the 110V version not the 220V it needs to have four buttons on the front and say it is dual stage, heating and cooling.
here is an example of the one to get:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/110V-tempera...ht_3525wt_1165

not sure if that seller is legit, but that controller is the correct one.

I purchased mine from this seller:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/110V-Tempera...item1c1bd59bac
I got it in about a week and a half.

These do not require anything more than an outlet, a project box, and some wire. Just like in the temp controller thread I linked.

Default Ranco

I use the Ranco for my fermentation freezer and I love it. Super easy to hook up as well. Here's the link for the controller and I'm pretty sure it's the same guy I got both of mine from: http://www.ebay.com/itm/RANCO-ETC-11...603#vi-content

And here's how to hook it up: http://www.rcreptiles.com/blog/index...1000_thermosta

My advice: hook it up yourself. Super easy, and you'll save some $
