Default Street Elbow Orientation

I'm setting up my March pump/plate chiller in a toolbox and in order to do this I need to put street elbows on the chiller facing a specific way with camlock fittings on them. The threads don't get completely tight in that direction and I cannot make it turn once more to face the correct direction.

Am I screwed? No pun intended. Would enough teflon tape enable me to tighten it as far as I can while still facing correctly and get a leak free seal? Or am I limited by when the fittings are considered tight on the chiller?

How would you guys accomplish this?

teflon + washers ought to take care of the issue.
A quick googling of the loctite question suggests red loctite requires heats around 300F to come loose, whether or not its food safe or whatever I couldnt find any info on, so proceed at your own risk.

I'm curious why you suggest the washers? If it's not tight till the end of the threads, wouldn't adding washers to it make it less water tight since it cannot tighten all the way that it needs?

Yellow teflon tape (for gas fittings) is thicker, and then pink, and white is the thinnest. All will work fine by adding more.

edit: Maybe pink is the thickest? Can't find data easily right now.....

White is single density, yellow is double, and pink is triple density (thickest). I only ever noticed pink being more thick than yellow and white, the latter two seem fairly close.
