I fabricated a manifold for my new mash tun using reinforced PVC tubing. The tubing is quite strong to prevent crushing and is food grade as well. I cut slots just as you would with copper tubing and plugged the open end.

This thing was ridiculously easy to make and performed flawlessly. I think I'll try the tubing for a sparge arm as well.

Project update:

After the second use, there was some funk in the tubing. Looks like some nasties got inside and grew on the steel threads.

I tried the concept again with thicker gauge, non-reinforced tubing. Unfortunately, this didn't want to stay on the bottom of the tun.

Project fail, looks like a false bottom is in my future...
