I got a 50% off coupon from Michaels with the newspaper, that brings the price to $12 and change. Seeing as how the nearest LHBS is 35miles oneway it's worth a shot. Does anyone who has done this have any advice before I start.

I mean, you can't really beat that thread for hints, tips, and ideas for modding it....start at post #21...I mean there's everything in there....attaching a motor, how to "maching" the rods...pics of setups and hoppers....What more could a pasta machine diyer need?
