I've been working on my RIMS for a while and just about finished. I need a link to a thermocouple and thermowell to be used with a Love TS2 controller. One thermocouple will be used in a 1/2" cross with a purge valve on top and the probe coming in from the bottom, and the other will be in the side of my HLT. Any links or suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

Maybe I am wrong but isn't the Love TS2 a temperature switch? I would think you would be better off with a PID to control your temperatures.

I purchased a "raw" stand from a guy that was getting married and needed some extra money. He already had the control panel built, which included two Love TS2 controllers already mounted. I'm hoping he did the research and these will work for what I want to do. I have Honeywell dual gas valves installed with intermittent pilot set-ups. At this point, I'm not sure I can make any alterations to the control panel because there just isn't room for a larger controller.


Are these going to work in this application? I'm not sure I understand the difference between the "switch" and a "PID".

Yes, they will work for your application. Yes, a TS2 is a temperature switch, thus the "TS." Brutus 10 clone builders usually use the TS-13010, but your TS2 will work almost the exact same way: the specs are barely different, and it has a different wiring scheme.

A PID can be used for a wide range of industrial apps (much more than a TS), but you don't need a PID. A PID will work just as well for your app, but a TS is all you really need for your direct-fired RIMS app.
