Ok, so ill start this off with "im an idiot" I got the cooler, I got the conversion stuff off the internet, but I think I got the conversion for a thicker cooler....it wont tighten and ive tried everything.... which piece do i need to replace to make it fit? sorry if this is vague, but Im not technical

The nipple is the part that goes through the cooler wall. You will need a shorter one or use additional washers as spacers.

You have a couple options. You can get a new, shorter nipple. How far are you from getting it to tighten? If you're 1/2" away, get a 1/2" shorter nipple. If you're close to getting tight enough by like 1/4", you can get yourself a bunch of washers to built up on the outside of the cooler. They can be plain old steel.

if I go to home depot will they know what the nipple is?
