I would like to use a March Pump to pump from a kettle through a stainless racking cane. My question has to do with priming. If I have some water in the hose on the inlet side but have some air in the line, will it pull the air through and continue to pump or will it stall at the air in the tube?

I do plan to have the pump below the wort level when I pump?

The pump is NOT self priming. You must remove ALL air bubbles. Gonna need a plastic tee (and a valve) on the inlet of the pump to start the siphon. Open plastic valve on tee and suck to start siphon then close valve. Put a valve with a bleeder port on the outlet of the pump and purge air when siphon established.

Well, that sucks - not! At least not any air.

I sure was hoping that I could put liquid on both sides of the pump and it would pull the air bubble through but I guess not. I may end up putting a weldless valve on the kettle after all.
