Default Keggle Support Stand Opinions Needed

Hey Guys,

I have been getting more and more frustrated with boilovers in my 30qt pot, and was looking for a more permanent solution. My LHBS started making Keggles, and they are for a pretty decent price ($130). My burner is a bayou turkey fryer, and too thin to accomodate the large keg. So...started looking for things to support the keggle above my burner.

I found something at HD that could work, but I am wondering about the heat properties of the metal. The adjustability, size, and weight accomodation seem to be in line though.

Do you guys think it'll work? Or just melt...

EDIT: Just wanted to add that I am not a big fabricator, and have very few tools. I am really just looking for something to hold up a keggle full of water or wort and can take the heat that is already in existence and wouldn't need weld help from me.

One concern I'd have with that stacking shelf is that the shelf is held in position on the legs by plastic pieces. I'd be concerned that the plastic would melt under high heat. I think you might find better luck looking at something like this Dutch Stand - Outdoor Cooking (not the greatest but the best I can find).

Oh yeah...the leg pieces are plastic. Hmmm...OK, I will keep looking around. Thanks for the help.

Which Bayou do you have? A lot of use those. I do 11Gallon boils in my keggle on my Bayou and it's supports it just fine.

This one: Turkey Fryer Kits, 30 Quart Turkey Fryer Kit

I think it could support the weight, but the top diameter is smaller than the keggle, I think. Maybe just some sort of grille over the top? Ideas?

Thought I would add that I just got measurements on the Keggle, 15.5" in diameter. The burner top support area is 13" in diameter.

I just used a 24" round replacement grill grate form HD for like $10 it works fine with my Keggel on my Bayou burner.

It is one of the heavy duty ones.

Turns out I have the same setup (and boilover problem) as you -- "30" quart Bayou turkey fryer and a keg (soon to be keggle). I think the stand will hold up but my kegs don't sit level on the burner so I'm going to take the grate from an old gas grill I have in the garage and lay it on top of the burner come brew day so I have a level spot for the keggle. If you don't have a spare grill laying around use doublexl's suggestion of replacement grill racks from HD.
