Default How to disconnect auto defrost?

I have heard that it is wise to disconnect the auto defroster in an upright freezer that is being converted to a keezer in order to avoid temp swings. So as the title says I am trying to figure out what I need to do to disconnect the auto defrost. I have a kenmore upright freezer. Here are some pics.

Looks like you just need to disconnect the orange wire to the element.

Yes, just disconnect one end of the wire.

Agreed - to the right of the pulled-back picture (I think it's orange as well, regardless of that color not being listed in the wiring diagram). The red/white/black wires in the close-up of the left side appear to be passing through a low pressure switch so you want to leave those wires alone...

Cheers!
