Default Getting 2 kegs - don't know what to do with them

But I know they can be useful.

Alright I know someone who knows someone else who has a cousin whose girlfriends dad can get me some kegs - no cost. Thing is, Im torn as to what to do with them.

I would absolutely love any response to this. Except for "give them to me".

Anyways, there is 2 of them for now. More if I want them. I was thinking of getting set up for AG brewing. Or maybe using one of them as a keggle? I dont know.

Make a keggle out of one, HLT out of the other, maybe.

Keggle, HLT, MLT, Fermentor, garden box. That's about what I can come up with.

Whilst waiting for some replies to this topic Im thinking a keggle and a fermentor.

Are there any diagrams anywhere I look at as to what to put on my new huge ass fermentor? Since is 15+ gallons, will I have to worry about having too much head space? Im thinking I'll want, a drain on the bottom (how far up?), a temp gauge somewhere near the middle. What about the top? I'll need and air lock bung hole.

I checked out the DIY projects sticky and didnt find anything there.

Head space shouldn't be a problem. It fills with CO2 anyway.

I agree though HLT, MLT, BK, fermenter(s).

Try seeing if you can trade a few for a march pump.

I bought three 1/2 barrel kegs from a recycler leaglly with the intent of making my Herms. After 6 years of them sitting in my garage I'm now planning on turning them into planters for my Hops crop next year.

I have started using a 15.5gallon sanke for fermenting 5 gallon batches. It seems to be working great with no signs of oxidation from a large headspace. It's relatively easy to clean with oxiclean and then I boil my sparge water in it for extra sanitation. Then I hit it with some starsan and use a #11.5 stopper with an airlock in it.
