Default Fridge Thermocouple

I have a GE mini fridge, I am wiring it up to a PID but dont have a thermocouple... I was about to order one but stopped pondering the idea of just reusing the one already in the fridge. Anyone ever tried this?

Not sure why you are using a PID most people use temp controllers.

you will have to do a search there are those that have wired their temp controller to control the frig, instead of just using the controller to cut the power to the frig.

the one inside the fridge is likely to be an analog pressure switch and not a thermocouple that would attach to a digital controller.
