Default First mash tun build question

I'm building my first mash tun and just have a few questions. First I'm using a 52 quart rectangle cooler. Is this too big for 5 gal batches? Second, I'm buyiNg the cooler kit valve from bargain fittings but I'm going to use 1/2" cpvc from lowes. What pieces do I need to connect them. Thanks

Cooler will be fine for 5 gallon batches, especially if batch sparging, however you could probably fly sparge

If you can, just wait until you get the fittings. When I built mine I just used a 1/2" brass nipple and attached a 1/2" CPVC adapter (screws right on and accepts 1/2" cpvc pipe)

I don't have one of these cooler conversion bulkheads, so if you can't wait til you get it, I am sure someone else can answer your question fully.

If you can find them they come in different flavors too. You can get the threads in brass or copper if you would like.
