So I just cut out my keg's top and when it fell throughto the bottom, I looked at it and thought, "that sure looks like a domed false bottom without any holes"
So has anyone re-purposed their top into a false bottom?
Just be sure that fittings fits tight, I would be concerned if fittings have rubber sleeve for fitting since standard rubber is not appropriated for food grade use at high temperatures... maybe there are silicone ones but I"m not sure..
I would suggest to investigate in propane torch and learn how to solder copper, it is not that hard and there are plenty of How to"s on web, also soldering copper is worth skill at homebrewing.
