Here's mine:

If you get the single round outlets (and a large enough box), you can drill a clean hole without the need for a cover plate.

What is the tab you pull, the plastic piece?
Just break it off?

It's a piece of metal that acts as a jumper between those two terminals, use a pair of needlenose pliers and work it back and forth until it pops off.

The tab is a metal join between the terminal screws and is meant to be broken off by fatiguing the metal up and down.

Here is the temp. controller I built a couple of weeks ago. I too used a junction box (from Home Depot about $11). It is very durable and has plenty of room and has wall mounts right on the box. I made my own celcius to F chart to put on top of it.

It seems to work great and here is the fermentation chamber that I built to go with it. I have yet to put a fan in the box, but the funny thing is with the lid closed and the fridge off, it stays around 66F in there. I won't take much to keep it cooler than that.

Awesome idea this ebay aquarium project was.

Sweet ferm chamber ya got there! I'd imagine when you get that thing full of brew with vigorous fermenting yeast, the fridge will have to work a little bit to fight the exothermic heat to keep it cool. Your ambient air temp has a lot to do with that too (dunno if your in the basement or what not).

I just completed my temp controller build, but I got that EE error message. Has anyone confirmed that it is absolutely the thermister? If so, I don't think I'll even waste my time trying to contact the seller. I can grab one from Radioshack for a couple bucks and be fixed tonight.

If you find what you need at radio shack post up what it is so we all know in case of future issues. If you don't find what you need there you can get them through the seller. Here is his response to me asking if he sells extra probes.

Quote:
Dear buyer,

The package is already included 1 sensor probe and we can sell you the extra sensor probe for Mini Digital Temperature Controller Thermostat Aquarium which cost at USD5.00 + USD2.00 for shipping. If you buy the extra sensor probe along with the main unit, then USD2.00 to be waived.

B/regards,

Finally put mine in a project box! This is the 7x5x3 and unfortunately I couldn't fit the controller on top with the electrical outlet
