They are galvanized, not stainless. Over time you are going to get corrosion.
I wouldn't use them for brewing personally.
Although they would probably make an excellent smoker.

yeah i was thinking even just for storage, not boiling....but still not stainless, so storage probly not a good idea either. i'm just bored at work and wanted to get opinions.

Wouldn't even make a good smoker. Galvanized releases gas that is bad for you at temp.

price is cheap, but I doubt it'd be the best solution for any brewing applications...including ingredient storage.

I don't think I would want to store or brew beer in a zinc pot, which is bassically what it is.

Run like hell.....Galvanization is poisonous, especially when heated (not sure if only to welding temps). Heated wort will dissolve some of it into your beer, I believe. I was told that you shouldn't use galvanized utensils or eat or drink from galvanized vessels (like buckets and old time water pipes are bad too) or put galvanized nails in your mouth (like us novice handymen do).
Not food grade.

Oh crap, I just looked at our site's piping spec for potable water..... yep galv steel screwed pipe..... as with all sites I have been on this seems standard..... I sure 2+ senior engineers would have F'd up that badly!
