Default Cooler MLT's and digital thermometers

What kind of thermometer would be appropriate for use in a cooler MLT? Im guessing and indoor/outdoor digital would be the best. Will the sensor handle temps up to 170 degrees?

I'd get one of those simple wired probe thermometers. Waterproof the probe with some surgical tubing and you are good to go.
