I painted my keezer chalkboard black and stained my collar with oak. it looks sick except for the white gasket and white silicone i put in every crack i could find.

my stain didn't adhere to the gasket well, neither did the paint. will dull black spray paint work on this?

I found some black Caulk at Home Depot or Lowes that I used on mine. Not sure about your seal, but it seems like it will be tough since it's flexible. I imagine most paints will crack and flake off.

i have other black caulk, but didn't want oozy black on the gasket. i guess my best bet is to ask the ppl at lowes in the refrigeration dept what paint adheres to gasket. of course chances are they're clueless haha

i should have also mentioned that my lid is screwed to my collar. so the freezer's gasket rests between the lid and collar. I have another black rubber seal under the collar. So flexibility doesn't matter for the gasket as it's just there as a filler, not being compressed when closed.

I would worry that the paint would damage the gasket. How about replacing it with black weather stripping? Also if your having paint issues they sell black appliance paint.

I've heard plasti-dip works for gaskets. It's a rubber based paint in a spray can.

I would recommend ditching your old gasket and just going to a local hardware store and purchasing some black closed-cell foam insulation that has an adhesive backing. It's also called "foam tape." It comes in a variety of heights and widths to suit your needs. That's what I've used on a couple of keezers, and seems to hold up well.

i used Rustoleum flat black enamel. It works fine. The gasket's use isn't an issue here because I have weatherseal under my wood collar that serves as my freezer seal. The original gasket is between the lid and the collar which is screwed to the lid. So it really doesn't need to be there, it's just a filler. Also, it's so old that it's not flexible anyways!

I didn't want to take everything apart and replace with a black gasket also. On the inside of the keezer lid assembly with collar I have rope caulk everywhere, so nothing's leaking out. here are some pics of it finished
