Default $5 MLT Conversion

So, I just picked up a 48qt Igloo IceCube...about $15

I was thinking of how to convert it and just decided to go organic and walk around Lowes until it hit me...this is what I came out with

The heart of it...a 3/8" Comp w/Insert Watts #A-110. One side is just screwed into the little plastic spigot and the other end has 3/8" OD tubing...OH Important, I flipped the spigot around so that this would screw in.

Another shot, kinda blurry

Inside, SS braid held onto the small part of the spigot with a SS hose clamp.

So, it came out like this:

3/8" Comp Union $2.77
3' 3/8"OD Tubing $0.60
SS hose clamp $1

Guess that comes out less that $5 I already had the braid.

I hope this helps someone out there...

Happy Brewing

Question: Without an operable spigot, how do you stop the flow? Just elevate the outlet tube above the top level of the mash?

Yep, if the hose is draped up and over like it is in the picture, it won't drain.
