Default Stone IPA

I bought one of these last night and I did not like what it tasted like. Has anyone ever had one? Is this a typical taste of an IPA? I believe that this was my first experience with an IPA and do not want to base my opinion on one beer. Can someone recommend anything that might be better?

you're probably not going to like IPA's if you don't like Stone. I would suggest a different type of beers.

What didn't you like? Could have been a bad bottle.

It is hard to describe. I am not sure if I am describing it right but it seemed acidic, Almost sour.

If you didn't like the IPAness then you would probably comment on the bitterness, but sour...
That sounds like a bad bottle. Reminds me of this: http://www.homebrewtalk.com/showthread.php?t=33213

Stone IPA is not sour. You must have got a bad bottle. Unless you're tasting the citrus-y-ness of cascade hops, which isn't really sour but grapefruit-y tasting. I love it and think it's one of the best IPAs around.

I agree. Stone IPA is probably THE best AIPA out there, all things considered.

If you got a bad bottle talk to Edwort. He contacted them about a bad beer and they hooked him up! They sent him a box with beer and Stone glasses in it! Almost makes you want to be dishonest

Thanks for the input. I guess I'll have to try it again. Are there others that anyone can recommend?

What did it look like. I came across some bad Stone IPA's as well. The one on the left is a bad Stone IPA. Cloudy and & sour.

Mine is on the right
