Default Scaldis Belgian Special Ale

Well costly to make and after keging and sitting for 2 months it was a hit at the party.

Considering its %12alc, the 1st few sips you can detect the alc in it, after that you can only taste the flavor.

Got lots of very suprised people who drank it and loved it. Got asked to make it for next Christmas party. Of course I said sure, fork the cash over and I'll do it. HAHAHAHA

If you have not tryed a big beer this one is worth trying.

9oz Belgian Cara-Munich Malt
4oz Beligan Aromatic malt
Steep at 150 degrees 20 minuts

11.5lb Mutons extra light dry malt extract
2lb beligan clear candi sugar
2oz styrian goldings 4.5%aa

after 45 minutes add:
1oz east kent goldings
1tsp irish moss

boil for 12 minutes then add styrian goldings

1st choice Wyeast 1388 beligan strong ale
2nd choice Wyeast 3787 trappist high gravity.

if bottling use 1-1/4cup mutons extra light dry malt extract.

I steep grain in 1 gallon water and sparge with 2.5 gallons and in fermemtor add water to 5 gal.

starting grav 1.115-1.116

fg 1.021

I notice a differance in my keg to let it sit for over 1 month.

I got this from the book Beer Captured.

You bet. However, I think I'm gonna try to convert this to AG.
