New Belgium Dig Pale Ale
|
|
I just had my first taste of NB's spring seasonal...
Ohhhhhh. My. GAWD!!
Sorachi Ace, Nelson Sauvin, and Cascades. I'd say an I.V. drip would be appropriate, but then you'd lose out on all the delicious hop goodness! Some APAs/IPAs are deceptive regarding their depth and complexity; they take a bit to really reveal themselves. This one is like the forthright aunt that has no oral filter. The moment it hits your tongue, you know what it is about - the hops. And although it makes no bones about it, it is wonderfully balanced. The malt is just present enough to keep the hops from making you feel like you need to shave your tongue.
I will be buying a 6er of this each and every time I go to the store until they quit sending it.

Well said...I had my first taste of it last night, and I found it surprisingly smooth considering the amount and types of hops it includes.

Just drinking my first one. I'm pretty impressed. I really liked last year's spring seasonal "mighty arrow," but this one is equally as good. Honestly, it's almost a little too sweet....I think it would be a lil better if it was just slightly more dry, but that might let too much of the hops in and takeover. Either way, I am enjoying it.

Yeah...I grew up in the OKC metro. OK's beer laws blow choad, that's for sure. How sad is it that if you're under 21, you can actually get a ticket for "possession of a non-intoxicating beverage?" AKA 3.2 near beer.

My brother-in-law got a keg of this on special order and I was pleasantly surprised. Well balanced and very tasty. I may have to find some of my own.

Looking forward to trying this tonight, i convinced the "spirits" worker to sacrifice a sixer of this into the mixer section,so i get two to try along with 4 others I have not tried yet including a few capital brewery beers, Shiners spring dortmunder, and Big Sky Bobo's robust porter. I wonder how that Sam Adams spring beer is,also.
