Default Large Format Beer?

A few friends and I were in Chicago for the holidays, enjoying a few pints in the Irish pub near our hotel.

Upon perusing the menu, I see Stone's Double Bastard Ale - Large Format.

I asked the waitress to show me what it was. Upon seeing it, I had to have it.

Here it is with a 1L mug and a normal 12oz bottle for scale.

They had 2 on hand, my buddy bought the second. Needless to say, we got pretty ripped.

Anybody ever seen 'Large Format' beers before?
