Anheiser bush Porter? why not?

I would like to see an AB porter. Why not, it wouldn't be much more to produce. Porter is so common, and American-ish.

All AB would do is add some Crystal 120 to the standard AR (all Rice) mash until it's the right color...then bottle.
I'm positive that is what they did for the American Ale.

They have the Michelob Porter... I don't know how good (bad) it is, but It's been out for a little bit. I tried the American Ale at a football game on Sunday, it wasn't bad... It wasn't great, but it sure tastes a lot more like beer than Bud does..

Yup, AB already makes a porter. It's been around for a while and it's pretty tasty. The bottle label says All Malt on the front in big letters.

I just think why? They have their market. If you want a good porter, I can recommend some.

I've been told that it's pretty good, but I've never seen it around here.

I have never seen a Mich porter. I have seen the Mich dark, but I am not sure I would categorize that as a porter. Maybe I'm wrong. Is there another on the market?
I suppose what I meant to say was that they are marketing a new ale, why not make it a porter in an effort to attract new customers. Instead of just a brownish Budweiser with a bit of hop aroma. I understand connecting it to bud to capitalize on the name recognition, but bud drinkers are not going to buy this ale, and it is not marketed to bud drinkers. They are trying to capture a bit of the sam adams, saranac, killians, etc. crowd. I feel they could do this without a huge amount of additional expense. At the price they are charging for the ale, it seems it would be profitable.
There is obviously a good bit of interest, almost 8000 views for the thread on this site.
And yes Bud does not have a bunch of flavor.

I just saw some new Michelob brews at the beer store Friday. Michelob PORTER was one of them! I almost bought a sixer out of curiosity. I hadn't seen Michelob Porter before. They also had the Pale Ale and one or two others I didn't recognize.
A quick view of michelob.com shows Irish Red, Porter, Pale Ale, Amber Bock, Marzen, Dunkelweizen, and Honey Lager in their line up. Apparently they have a "Craft Sampler Pack" with all of these in it....
