I do labels when I'm giving out beer as gifts. If it's for personal consumption, then no. It's too much of a hassle.

Since I tend to give some of the bottles to family and my GF, i find labels are needed.

As much as I like designing labels, I hate removing labels from used bottles. If I plan to give some away as gifts, I'll slap a label on them. If i give them to my drinking buddies I'll just tell em what it is. When I start kegging I plan to create labels that can be laminated and make tap handles that can accept interchangeable labels.

Labels for my holiday batch (a cinnamon, nutmeg and vanilla stout)... VERY tasty. My labels always have the same general look to them for consistency.

My girlfriend occasionally does freelance graphic and web design, so she knows her way around Photoshop and Illustrator. Apparently our little apartment is the home of the Metawee Valley Brewing company lol

I can definitely tell when a label has been made by someone who not only knows the software but also knows the design elements... lining things up, color relation, contrast in sizes, motion, readability... From another designer tell her I said great job!
