Simple design. I just wanted to show that you can create effective labels with nothing more than Google Images and MS Paint. What do you think?

As a professional designer, the idea of using Word, Excel, Paint, anything made by MS just makes me cringe. Well executed labels though. There's always another way to do things.

What would you recommend? Any free downloads you can think of that I could look into?

GIMP or Inkscape are both free opensource programs. GIMP is like Photoshop and Inkscape is like Illustrator. I use the Adobe stuff in my home office and for freelancing. The LHBS I work for and do design work for didn't wanna spend the money on the Adobe software so I've been using GIMP and Inkscape there.

Love it. Are you just putting the label on a keg or is that for a tap handle?

I printed and framed it to sit near the tap and have also printed it to fit my bottles.

I think I finally came up with a logo. I call myself "Quiet Corner Brewing" because I live in the quiet corner of Connecticut. Finding a way to incorporate that into a logo was difficult so I decided on this for a bottle neck label. What do you think?

Looking forward to this being ready to drink. I wanted an old-time medicine label look. What do you think?

Very nice!

I would say, that would look pretty cool on some vintage looking clear bottles, but I know how clear bottles for beer are viewed on this board.

I ALWAYS bottle at least 6 clear bottles every batch. I keep them stored out of the sunlight and have never had an issue. I like to be able to see the clarity of my brews. And, yes, the label looks great on a clear bottle!

Post up some pics of that retro-brew! :mug:

Those are cool! Do you print those out on regular paper, as opposed to sticky-back stuff? I have read, and done, in the past is print and cut out labels on regular paper, and using milk as a "glue". Rub milk on the back with a cotton ball, and affixing to the bottle.

I use adhesive back plain white mailing labels. I only label the bottles I give away so removing them isn't my problem. The trouble is that if they get wet the colors tend to bleed.

Cool labels man! Im just getting into this myself. I use pics I take on brew day and pit them in a photo editor on my phone. I then email the image to myself then load it in paint to do all the lettering. Free and easy! I dig all your beer names and the label ideas!

Who so you use? Onlinelabels.com? If so, is there a certain template to order?

I don't bottle much since I've been kegging, but I do like to put back the occasional 12 pack to float me through til I can replace the keg that kicked out with more beer.

Love the Elixir bottle pic you posted. That label looks great on the clear bottles.

I use the programs on my computer...Open Office and MS Paint. I find the graphics I like on-line (Google images) and then add my own words and fonts.
