Thanks!
I made them with this japanese mini screen printer, called "print gocco" -- http://www.gocco.com/prod.HTM. Unfortunately, they've been discontinued -- http://www.savegocco.com/... they're really great for things like this.
All in all, a pretty cheap project, some tags from staples, tiny bit of ink, and one screen....

These look fantastic!!! SWMBO and I were gonna use a gocco for our save-the-date cards, but we went with something else instead.
I love the use of the tags!!

denimglen: definitely had some influence on the name and image.... i also live in queens, so, the 7 train seemed appropriate... hopefully will feature more queens/ny related imagery in the future...
A4J: thanks! the gocco is awesome, but i'm starting to run out of screens, so not sure what's next... i tried to linocut something for an apfelwine label (seemed appropriate), but those tags are way too small...
Here's one more photo of the labels proudly hanging from the bottles:

That is a great idea! Looks cool and no labels to remove later!

For printing screens, a really cool way to do it is using an old mimeograph machine (from primer school you may remember them, they copy stuff in purple ink really fast) and some transfer paper/mesh (I forget where you get it from) you just make a photocopy of the black & white design, then run it through the machine and it makes a screen, works every time. My mum grabbed one of these things back in the day when the schools got rid of 'em.
