Default Explication wheat ale label

Never done a purely graphic label simply with text before. What do yall think?

Phillip

I think you'd end up with a more cohesive look if you didn't have 5 different fonts.

Play with making the "Explication" a bit brighter, to give it more contrast against the background. Right now I think it blends in a bit too much, and there are elements/ornaments behind it that are brighter, it's distracting me from what should be the main focal point - the name.

I do like that you defined explication, and the write up on the side is well written. Overall - with a few tweaks I think it has potential.

The Explication text is better off darker rather than light as it offers more contrast. As for the number of fonts, the description, stats & brew free or die are allways the same in all my labels. I tried to use the 4th gen brew font as the Explication font but it didn't read well. I always use a distressed text for the 4th gen brew text.

Phillip

I like it. My only complaint is the dark brown text on the brown label. Maybe do a lighter stroke around the text, or bring it out in a different color.

Nice looking label. Although I do agree that the background graphics should be more subtle. It is competing with the name.

I agree with you guys, there need to be more contrast between the Explication text and the background. I don't the background which I want to be rich and interesting is the problem. The Explication text simply needs to 'pop' a bit. I'll resample the dark color from the right edge and place it as the text color. If it still needs more I'll do either a tiny stroke of lighter color or a drop shadow to really push it graphically forward. Thanks for the feedback and compliments.

Schlante,
Phillip
