Dahoov, insane! I'm guessing that's how you got the pictures for my little contest?

Indeed it is. I thought about sending you some pictures with the instruments in the shot but figured it would detract from the scenery too much.

How do you get towed up to altitude? Do you have to pay someone for that?

I either pay for a tow from a towplane. (That is me in the towplane). This is the most expensive way. For a 2000 foot above ground level tow I pay about $50.
I pay for a winch launch. This is $20 for whatever launch altitude the conditions permit. Usually about 1800 feet above ground level.
Or I have 3000 feet of rope and can use my 4-Runner to launch in a similar way to running with a kite. This only costs me gas money and a couple home brews for someone to drive my 4-Runner. This naturally is my preferred method. If the runway is long enough I can get a 2000 foot above ground launch.
