Pilsner @ 11AM
|
|
I'm drinking some Pilsner Urquell and I can really understand why certain cultures love low ABV beers. Obviously its pretty early to be quaffing, but I get up around 7AM and just sweat my ass off landscaping. This style is perfect for hot, humid days. Anyone else crave beer after strenuous activity?
edit - by hot I mean 88F at 10:30 in the morning

A nice low abv, easy drinking beer is perfect after some hard work in the heat. Kinda like gatorade. I have a few bottles of various Polish pilsners that I'll probably get into in a little while. I hear ya on the heat, it's already in the high 80's here right now and it's supposed to get much worse...

Um, yes. Yes I do. I'm about to go mow the lawn, and when I'm done, nothing tastes better than a pull from my keg of Summer Blonde (3.97%).

Yeah, you've pretty much got the same disgusting weather as me. Tri-state area humidity in the house...

It's 87 here now and I'm brewing in my garage sweating my arse off. There's a bit of a breeze though, so it could be worse.

I bike as much as possible, and live uphill from school, work, friends, and grocery stores. That means I'm always working pretty hard to get home, and a cold quaffer always hits the spot like nothing else. When you're really nasty and sweaty, like I will be today in the same heat wave you're in, nothing feels much better than a shower and a beer- at the same time.

I totally concur. I live in hot ass Texas & prefer pilsner style beers in the summer. Most of my beer fridge is lighter styles right now. I even have a grolsch clone lagering.

Bock to warm me up.
It's the middle of summer and I'm contemplating putting the heating on and I have two duvets on the bed!
