Lousy Neighbor Thread
|
|
I have lousy neighbors...
I few months back these two "ladies" moved in next door to us, no big deal, I'm all about gay people having the right to be together, etc. They have a 13 yo and a 16 yo, both girls, and 2 middle sized dogs (keep in mind, we have 2 bedroom 1 and a 1/2 bath townhouse, not small, but certainly gets a "packed" feeling when we have company over)...
So the first week or so they had moved in they had a constant stream of people coming and visiting, which is normal and I didn't mind when I came out from work for 2 weeks and didn't have a parking spot...
For the first 2 weeks they'd blast music, I'd expect that from a 13 and 16 yo, but you'd think mom and other mom would be considerate and tell them to keep it down... but whatever they were new and I'm sure they were just "testing the limits".
Now it's been a few months since they had moved in, I have called twice about the bass thumping being too loud, but once again, here we are... bass thumping in the background to the point where I can practically tell what they are listening to (keep in mind, my daughter is watching Stewart Little right now and I can hear it over our own surround sound).
The manly one is constantly woodworking, constantly. Every weekend she is building something and lord knows what's inside that home of theirs.... Now this isn't a complaint, she obviously likes to be handy and if that floats her boat, whatever. I'd rather hear hammering and saws than thumping bass like it's a night club over there and we've just hit "rave hour".
Anyway, I know I'm supposed to "love thy neighbor" but even after I have told them directly and even called the management here about the music and constant visitors and lack of parking, they still are inconsiderate and somewhat rude.
I could stoop to their level and blast music and steal their parking spots, but something in me still forces me to respect them.
Anyway, they are lousy and I guess it's the thrill of renting a home and all that goes with it.... but my god, some people just amaze me, I'm shocked hat grown adults could be so inconsiderate.
Oh, they also have a car with 1,000 bumper stickers on it and half of them have crap like, "i don't have an attitude, you're just a f**king a**hole!" and other trashy sayings.

I've had crappy neighbors and good neighbors. It's a PITA to deal with the bad ones. Had a similar situation where they would blast loud music, etc... On more than one occasion the base Military Police were called to deal with it (and not always by me). In the 3 years I lived next door to them I had at least a couple flat tires. Obviously I could never prove anything, but.....
Hardly know my neighbors now, and haven't had any issues.
I don't know what you can do in your situation honestly. You can complain to the right people and it might get results, then again it might cause more problems.

Call the landlord and complain. There has to be rules in the lease.
Then start calling the cops.

Put a few more bumber stickers on her car such as " Cops Suck " or something to that effect.
Invite Butch over and introduce her to homebrewing, she might like it.

I have the same problem with my nieghbors. They play thier umpa music all the time. Throw beer bottles in my yard and thier kids torment my dogs by throwing crap in the backyard. I have tried calling the cops but I usually get a message saying that they are experiencing a high volume of calls. I'm moving in a few months and I cant wait. I share your pain Braehaus.

The previous tenants were two college girls, they partied hard and had tons of parties at their place all the time... I called the cops b/c one night my wife and I were in bed when I could smell pot and I mean to the point were I could have gotten a contact high had I not called the cops...
After that they smoked inside.
they had shady drug deals going on and there was usually a different car popping in and out at all hours...
having a child and being concerned with my family's safety I was more than happy to call the cops on them...
the final straw was one morning at 2am I was woken from a dead sleep by a loud crash, I looked out the front window and the girl's boyfriend had crashed his car into the concrete steps out front of our townhouse, he had hopped the curb with his pimped Cadillac and wrecked right in front of our houses.... had their not been a curb and step, he would have crashed through my unit...
5 mins later I was in gear (had my fire gear at home with me for training earlier that day) and was assisting in pulling his drunk arse out of the car.
I was never more infuriated in my entire life.
The next day the girls were cleaning house; management gave them 48 hours to vacate the premises... lucky for us, this is a family community and that nonsense is not tolerated.

Our neighbors are the crankiest old people I've ever had the displeasure to know. Fact is, after five years we don't even know them. They are basically hermits unless they are yelling out the window at our kids. If the ball or frisbee lands on their grass and the kids go over to get it you can hear them tapping on the window and saying 'Get off the property!" One time our niece, who was about three, toddled onto their grass and she was yelling again.
One time my wife was out in the back yard working in her flower bed and leaned something on the fence that divides the property and the old lady came out, walked over to where my wife was and pushed the object off the fence and said 'I told you four inches from the fence!" Everything like plants and leaves etc. has to be four inches from her fence.
They're nuts and incredibly unpleasant. I think they're probably Nazi war criminals hiding out. They've got that heavy German accent, they're never outside and they never get visitors. They're like the Klopeks from The 'Burbs... Just nasty.
Why is it nasty people live the longest?

nasty people live the longest cause even cancer doesnt want to live with them.
ive had some unpleasant neighbors too, one nut job came out with a digital camera and started taking pictures of my dad saying he was blowing leaves onto the neighbors property (not his property) and he was going to show them the pics, all of this was BS. anyway this was just the tip of the iceberg but you get the idea.
