Default Earth after oil.

Anyone watching National Geographic's documentary about what happens when the earth's oil supply suddenly runs out? This is the scariest thing I've ever seen on TV. Time for another beer.

That simply isn't going to happen. There are centuries worth of oil in the tar sands and oil shales, just a matter of paying the price.

Meh. We survived as a species before oil for quite a while. We will survive after.

People are too caught up on how awesome and "advanced we are". The "advanced" period of human existence will be a small blip on the radar of humanity. Like looking back at how advanced the Egyptians were.

No sense crying about it.
