Default Drink to the Dead

Those of you who have a taste for heavier rock, do yourself a favor: Next time you hoist a few, download this song, and crank it on the best set of speakers you have.

Drink to the Dead by Clutch

IF KNEE DEEP IN CATNIP AT THE OLD ICE BOX,
I RECOMMEND YOU WHISTLE AND GIVE THE BOX THREE KNOCKS.
SHOULD YOU BE SO LUCKY TO HEAR WHISPERING,
IT IS AN INVITATION FOR YOU TO LEAP IN.

MAY YOU GO MARCHING IN THREE-MEASURE TIME,
DRESSED UP AS ASSES AND DRUNK TO THE NINES.
SWING FROM THE RAFTERS SHOUTING THOSE SONGS
GONE UNSUNG FOR FAR TOO LONG.

IF BOXING YOUR SHADOW AT THE WALL FULL OF MOSS
AND ANTLERS APPROACH YOU, THEN I AM AT A LOSS.

MAY YOU GO MARCHING IN THREE-MEASURE TIME
DRESSED UP AS ASSES AND DRUNK TO THE NINES.
SWING FROM THE RAFTERS SHOUTING THOSE SONGS
GONE UNSUNG FOR FAR TOO LONG.

DRINK TO THE DEAD ALL YOU STILL ALIVE
WE SHALL JOIN THEM, IN GOOD TIME.
SHOULD YOU GO CROSSING THAT SILVERY BROOK,
IT'S BEST TO LEAP BEFORE YOU LOOK.
DRINK TO THE DEAD ALL YOU STILL ALIVE
WE SHALL JOIN THEM, IN GOOD TIME.
SHOULD YOU GO CROSSING THAT SILVERY BROOK,
IT'S BEST TO LEAP BEFORE YOU LOOK.

IF SURROUNDED BY TOADSTOOLS AT THE OLD GREEN GLEN,
I'M AFRAID THERE IS LITTLE THAT I CAN RECOMMEND,
SAVE ALL OF YOUR COURAGE AND SINCERE PRAYER.
AND WHERE YOU GO A' TREADING TAKE THE UTMOST CARE.

DRINK TO THE DEAD ALL YOU STILL ALIVE
WE SHALL JOIN THEM, IN GOOD TIME.
SHOULD YOU GO CROSSING THAT SILVERY BROOK,
IT'S BEST TO LEAP BEFORE YOU LOOK.
DRINK TO THE DEAD ALL YOU STILL ALIVE
WE SHALL JOIN THEM, IN GOOD TIME.
SHOULD YOU GO CROSSING THAT SILVERY BROOK,
IT'S BEST TO LEAP BEFORE YOU LOOK.

I've seen Clutch more times than I can count. They play a show at Emo's here in Austin at least once a year. Great band and one of the best live shows I've been to. Their newer music really sucks though, last few albums actually.

Ehh, I use a pay-as-you-go service. You'd probably have to get it using a similar service, or a P2P client. I'm so behind the times with this stuff, I don't have any immediate recommendtions for you!

Here's something: http://music.yahoo.com/ar-303808-downloads--Clutch

I don't know what they charge. It's the last one on that page. "Pure Rock Fury" rocks like a bastard too, but that's for a different thread.

It's dark and sends a shiver up my mortal spine. I like it. Drunk to the nines is a new one on me, but we can all relate.

Cool, you got it? It's kinda dark, but it's kinda inspirational too. It's got the feel of an old sea-shanty type drinking song.

Heh heh....you like that, download a song off the same album called "Careful With That Mic". Best. Rap. Song. Evar.

Listening to Clutch, drinking a brew, and watching a show where they're dropping a 426 Hemi into a '63 Polara.
