Minor things. I love JB, but man, they got SO STUPID for a while. So over the top and unbelievable. Even the cool gadgets couldn't save them.
The Craig movies have been only a little extreme compared to them. He gets beat up too much and still manages to walk/run/fight/live, etc. A few things like that.
Not like the middle of the pack Bonds with some floozy screaming, "JAMES" in a very annoying high-pitched voice. Man, if I were Bond, I'd have left her to drop to her death. You KNOW he's got that lined up around the BLOCK!
Word.

yeah, I've seen them all so far. The reason he doesn't fit bond, is that he's "too human". He gets his heart broken in Casino Royale. Bond doesn't fall in love.
Skyfall was good, but a further deviation from the bond character, they even reference the "gadgets" as being old school. It's becoming more and more generic as an action movie.

Bond fell in love and got married in On her Majesties Secret Service. As for too human, it was a reboot of the series, you see Bond develop into a hardcore killer who uses women as shields and throws guys from buildings.
I think they got rid of most of the gadgets was because they were just too far out there. They had to reel them in.

It's a reboot. You get to find out WHY Bond later has a detachment to the women he deals with.
I thought the gadget thing was great. At first I was like, "Oh hell no! Bond HAS to have his gadgets!" But it fit the modern times and in the end Bond ended up using his one small gadget and that show's his resourcefulness. I'm seriously hoping he gets back to using a few more in later movies though. Gadgets are part of what made Bond so much fun to watch.
Still waiting for the ski chase scene though...

I'm a huge James Bond fan. I can watch them all over and over again with the exception of Timothy Dalton and George Lazenby, and anything other than Goldeneye that Pierce Brosnan did. I don't care too much for those. My favorite is still Dr. No. They can be cheesy and over the top at times, but I grew up watching them and still get excited when I see a Bond marathon on TV. My wife, of course, doesn't understand.
