I would like to see an octoberfest ale since I can't lager right now.

Damn you, Ed. Just when I tell myself I'm not going to brew for a few weeks, you come out with what I wanted to brew next as this week's special.

Any guess as to how long I could hold on to the crushed grain before brewing with it?

3 months if you freeze it

Yes the grains will lat for a food while sealed in the bag.
