Default Vessel - A 7.1 Gallon Stainless Fermenter

I have been posting here for a while and I've decided to dip my toe in the waters of product development. One product concept that has been brought up a few times on this forum is the idea of a sealable, stainless steel fermenter. It makes sense - our buckets and carboys both scare us, though for different reasons.

The idea behind the Vessel is a simple, easy to clean, easy to sanitize fermenter that you will have for as long as you brew.

My goal is to do a pilot run of fifty units. There isn't much profit in the first fifty (you can see the numbers on the IndieGogo page); this is my way of determining if there is a market for this product. My hope is for the next run to be five or six times as large and to begin selling to local homebrew shops.

I'm looking for backers to my IndieGogo campaign. Every backer receives one Vessel including shipping. If the project isn't fully funded, those who did support the project will receive a full refund.

Thanks for taking the time to consider this idea. Even if you aren't interested in a Vessel at this point, simply liking the facebook page is a big help.

That is one sexy fermenter... I am indeed pondering a couple of these.

You would have to go through the process twice. A little clunky, I know

Thanks! I hope so, too. I'll keep you posted, of course.

Interesting concept. Looks similar to something I have been pondering a lot lately. I live in an area where there is a lot of dairy farming and have been thinking about using stainless milk buckets as fermentors.

That's exactly what this is based on. Someday i'd like to come out with a 2.0 that modifies the mold a bit (wider opening at the top, maybe a bit shorter, tri-clad bottom) but the mold fees require a much larger production run.

That's what came to my mind as well - reminded me of the stainless dairy milk containers. I have been looking at the new big mouth bubbler and it just doesn't impress me. Stainless is where it's at!
