Default Used 5 gallon ball lock kegs

Hey everyone,
Over Memorial day weekend we negotiated a deal for some used cornys from a somewhat local distributor. We are selling them at $54.00 which includes shipping. They also all come with a free o-ring kit plus the used ones that are already installed. For what we have invested in them we cannot combine shipping on these or honor the buyers club 10% off code. Sorry. We just wanted to buy them and be able to offer them at a fair price before someone got em and sat on them forever till they could charge an arm and a leg for them. We have 50 of them right now and hope to have a few more trickle our way from time to time.

Thanks and have a great weekend!
Jeremy

Well those are converted pin lock (coke) kegs which are shorter and fatter and dont fit as well in kegerators or keezers. Makes a lot of difference to people who are tight on space. You can normally get pin lock kegs anywhere for $20 each or so. Mine are ball lock kegs. Big difference. Also, shipping is additional on those kegs.

If I recall, shipping for 2 kegs is about $18 @ cornykeg.com

So you end up paying about $78 for 2 converted pin-lock kegs shipped. As opposed to $108 for 2 original ball-lock kegs shipped, and a pack of o-rings (which isn't worth much, but it's something). So basically you are paying a price premium in one case, and a space premium in the other. For me, the extra space was worth the savings in price, so I went with pin-lock. But a lot of mini-fridges will barely fit 2 ball-lock kegs, or only 1 pin-lock. I think the people with these fridges are the target market here.

Even if the OP was charging $1000 per keg, this is his place to showcase products, not get ripped for what he offers.

Agreed. Read the rules, guys. My post was basically why I think ball lock kegs cost a little more than pin lock (price vs. space). No need to post links to other vendors.

Again guys these are clean inside and come with a spare set of orings. The price includes shipping to anywhere in the lower 48.
I had no idea folks were so passionate about ball lock kegs!

There is nothing wrong with this price, especially since it includes shipping and they are non-converted kegs. The days of cheap cornys are over, and the people who have remaining stock are making a killing on them (by that I mean the wholesalers).

Not necessarily. The market dictates what they go for. You have to realize that literally tens of millions (if not hundreds of millions) of these things were made. They were once the sole method of dispensing Coca Cola (and Pepsi, Dr. Pepper, etc.) from a fountain. So there are a ton of them out there. It's just a matter of finding someone who has them and is willing to part with them cheaply. But there are definitely still cheap corny kegs out there. I bought a few less than a month ago.

+1

I just bought a couple dirty soda ball locks off Craig's List for 40 each. I think your price is a fair deal.
