Perhaps if the cost of shipping is prohibitive you could offer the same promotion but charge for shipping.

I'm not a marketing major or anything but to me I would guess Canadian members on HBT consist of less than 10% of total membership. US membership is probably somewhere around 80% or higher. You could promote your business to 100% of HBT members by offering your prizes to everyone at the cost of shipping.

Nice Give-A-Way to our northern border brothers, are you doing your giveaway on the Canadian version of HBT.com also?

I think she should be on every page of this thread

I'm in Detroit, which is north of Windsor, doesn't that technically make it Canada? No? Oh well...nice try.

I didn't see it in the recent giveaway where 20 great prizes worth thousands of dollars were given away. It was open to all of HBT whether you were in the U.S., canada or Timbuktu. OBK saved their prize till that giveaway was over and did a "Canadians only" giveaway. I'm sure I'm not the only person who was put off by that. They've had promotions where I've thought about paying the shipping and supporting an HBT vendor. After this though, I won't even look at them anymore. Closing yourself off from the American portion of HBT is not a wise choice, in my opinion. Oh, to stay on topic:

Honestly, USA is not our demographic. We can not compete because of shipping costs and package times. We do not even try to market there, or intend to start. That is the reason why you only have one Canadian vendor. We are here to target the roughly 9,000 Canadian users and keep there business in Canada where we can offer free shipping and no brokerage.

Thank you for your understanding and please feel free to PM if you have further concerns.

Cheers.
Patrick

Wow some of you are coming off sounding like spoiled little kids. They can give away whatever they want to whomever they want. If they can't compete in the US it'd be silly to give away to people here because it's not like they're going to generate any extra business. If your reason for not doing business is that you aren't eligible for free stuff you probably wouldn't shop there anyway because their prices would be higher.

Cheers to a vendor doing a contest, wish I could enter! Here's a pic of my beer closet. Feel free to use even if I can't get free stuff.

Awesome to see a Canadian vendor on here, I had no idea.

I don't keg yet, it always seemed like too big a PITA getting everything together. I just visited your site and suspect I might be kegging by the end of the year.

I'm sending in a pic of a traditional Canadian brew day....
