New yeast strain from Wyeast
|
|
We are running tests with a new yeast strain from Wyeast. So far, the results are excellent. We made a batch of beer and split the batch in half. In one batch we used 1056 American Ale. In the other we used the new yeast strain.
The new yeast strain finished cleaner than 1056. It also really brings out the hop flavor and aroma. The 1056 beer seemed bland in comparison. This is an outstanding yeast if you really want an improvement over 1056. Especially if you like hops.
I am really excited about this new strain. I will be more excited when I can tell you more about it.

Sounds good and look forward to hearing about this. I just wish local shops carried Wyeast because I have had no luck with White Labs lately

Is it going to be an AHB exclusive, kind of like how Northern brewer has that English strain?

Hopefully it has high alcohol tolerance and flocculates well. Can't wait to hear about it and then try it!
