Interesting concept. Any personal experience on how it performs?
BTW, got my order today. Thanks for the quick shipping (but I wish I would have know you were going to put ball locks on sale a few days after I ordered )

Is the tap kit $70.29 and the keg itself is $148.35?
If I'm reading it correctly, the information in your post and on the site is a bit misleading.
Can you provide any more details on how it works and what's needed?
From what I can gather, the beer chamber uses a D-style sanke coupler and the gas chamber uses a cornelius style gas out connector. I'm assuming the regulator between the gas side and the gas in on the liquid side is necessary because the chambers are not the same size. Can you add the dimensions of the system as well?
I love the idea and when you look at the price of a 2.5 or 3 gallon cornelius keg it doesn't seem that crazy.

-Unfortunately, the design of our E-Commerce sight shows the lowest price per item (attribute) when several items are available in a single listing.
-Since this listing has two items, 1. The Keg, 2. The Kit, it shows the kit price as the "Starting at" price.
-Also unfortunate, there is no way we can change this for it is in the base architecture of this specific E-Commerce system.....RATS!

Yes, it DOES use a "D-Style" Twist coupler.

Does a standard D coupler work on this? What is the filling and cleaning procedure?

Maybe I'm a little slow, but I do the same thing by filling a cornie half way and charging it with CO2.
Now, if it came with a hand pump, having a bladder would prevent the oxygen from contaminating the beer.

Does the charge dispense the entire 1/2 cornie? What PSI do you charge? I like the size of the 3 gal. keg and not having to lug around co2 since I currently only have a 20 lb tank.

Haven't thought of that before I'd ask the same question the next guy asked if thats enough pressure to dispense to keg and at what psi?

Generally, I charge a 1/2 keg to 4-5 psi over the serving pressure, so it starts a little high, but still has enough pressure to fully discharge the keg. If you carbonated to 12 psi and then charged to 16, by the time you float the keg the pressure will be around 10. It's not strictly 50%, because some out-gassing occurs.
Now, if you attached the bladder to a cornie lid and mounted a hand-pump on top, that would be really cool. Lot cheaper to manufacture and people could use them without having to transfer from one keg to another.

RE:Freshkegs

I just bought 2 of the 3 gallon kegs and received them yesterday. Very solid and well built. Very easy to clean as the new'RR" versiopn has standard fittings and a threaded lid that you screw on and then attach a normal d coupler. I bought mine directly from the company in Canada for 122.00 each. They have a 4 gallon for 5 bucks more, but cant make a 5 gallon due to design specs and the internal co2 tank. I was going to buy normal 2.5 or 3 gallon cornies until I found these. Co2 is built into the tank. Basically you attach a ball lock fitting from the co2 tank and regulator you have to the gas in port. You fill the internal co2 tank and then disconnect. You fill with beer from you fermenter, screw on the lid and add the sanke tap. attach the gas connector(there is only one) to the gas in on the sanke and now you can force carbonate, either using the tap kit that chi company sells, or one directly fron shaeffer kegs. i like "chi-companies" because it has a regulator you can adjust. Schaeffer's is preset to 12 psi, so the beer carbonates to this pressure. I called and asked lots of questions and they were very nice. Shipped from Buffalo NY. They have some cool accessories like a tap etc.. i will post more after i fill my first keg next week, but the bottom line--for the same cost as a new 2.5 or 3 gal corny, you can get one of these and never have to worry about transporting co2 and also fitting tanks in the fridge. Of course you have to buy a couple of sanke d couplers and fittings, but I ordered a couple of extra regulators online to make my own tapping kits. feel free to post any questions.
Thanks,
Wayne
