New Recipe Kit On Sale - AHS Tripel IPA

My new kit is an aggresively hopped IPA with a Belgian twist. This kit has 5 hops and Trappist yeast. This beer is approximately 8% alcohol.

Like the Chouffe Houblon Tripel IPA? If that's what this is emulating, that's a fine tasting beer.

It is our own concoction but it is becoming a popular style.

In another thread it came up that the brewing instructions' mash temp was a generic figure. Is this tripel a 150˚ mash or something else, and can you change your recipe sheets to reflect the ideal mash temp for the style?

I think your Pliny clone would be the king of all aggressively hopped kits. 5 oz do not seem to be enough to be called a triple by USA standards but I can see it with the Belgian twist. I bet it is a tasty beer.

Its not called Tripel because of the amount of hops, thats a Belgian style made with Trappist yeast. You are confusing it with American based Double / Triple (not Tripel) IPA which is measured based on amount of hops. AHS Pliny is 17oz of hops, thats hoppiness.

Well it was a late night brewing the Pliny and I think I am still foggy.... Thanks.

Is this anything like Flying Dog's Raging Bitch ?

besides having a great name, it is a great beer.
