Kazbek Pellet Hops (CZ) (1 oz) - $1.99 Kazbek is a new variety of Czech hop. It is similar to Czech Saaz, but it has a higher alpha acid. Beer styles that typically use this hop include pilsners, lagers, Belgian-style ales, and sometimes bitters. Possible Substitutions: Czech Saaz, Sterling. Sounds interesting... up to twice the oil content of regular Czech Saaz.

It's a Russian hop. 5-8% a-acid. Looks interesting, if I come across some I'd like to try it in a pils. Easy way to get to the heart of the matter.

I'm brewing this up next, if only because I live in Kazakhstan, and a popular guy's name is Kazbek!

I believe this hop is a new IPA type of hop. They brewed an IPA in Czech Republic called Nomad Karel and my understanding is that they got the fruity IPA tastes in that beer from Kazbek hops.
