Northern Brewer - Limited Edition Recipe Kits : Northern Brewer
Broken Spear Bitter
A true session beer that showcases fat, juicy malt ahead of snappy bitterness, and subtle tropical fruit behind a blend of fragrant, resiny hops.
Sustainor 2 Rye Maibock
This strong, red-amber, late-hopped, dry-hopped, wheat- and rye-incorporating, highly unorthodox bock was originally a limited edition beer kit from winter 2011; now it’s back with a bit less color, a bit more gravity, and a much more pronounced spicy, oily rye profile. Just like the first iteration, Sustainor 2 gains grainy goodness, heightened foam stands, rich color, and even a hint of milk-chocolate aromatics from rye and wheat malts of various roast levels. Hop additions of 100% Sterling from boil through secondary fermentation impart a beguiling combination of earthy and spicy aromatics.
Mustache Envy Belgian Stout
Taking equal cues from stouts of turn-of-the-century England and the freewheeling tendencies of Francophone Belgian brewers, the end result is devotional to many influences, but beholden to none in particular. Clue 1: Lagered on French oak just long enough to drop bright. Clue 2: Fat-bottomed malt for days, with booze to match. Clue 3: Dark, earthy, spicy English hops straining to breathe free. Indulge your inner Belgian detective; delve into the secrets that only true Mustache Envy can bring.
