Simply stated: NO.
Back in 2003 we told people what PBG told us; that the supply was starting to get low.
Well, for PBG that meant a couple hundred thousand.
When we told people that, we got our asses chewed with responses from homebrewers such as "...you're just trying to scare us and increase prices, you are assholes", and "...that's a lie. THere are so many kegs that they will never run out...".
Well, we were selling over 60,000 kegs a year to places like Morebeer, Midwest, Northern (and all the other large HB Shops), chemical companies, car washes, food oil companies, etc, etc, etc. Pepsi China was importing 200,000 a year for several years straight.
Well....now you have people selling crap kegs, the last and worst of them, for $50 each, or worse, converted Pin lock kegs and stating that they are "Refurbished kegs". We refuse to sell either. We now only sell new kegs.
Back when we got chewed out, we were selling them for $16/e.
So now to restate our answer; No, there are no more kegs -in bulk qtys- in the U.S. They only places that have them are Pepsi America in mn, oh, etc, and some smal franchise plants.
I hope this helps,
Matt
