I'm trying to make Jockey Box Coils by forming it around a Firestone Keg.
The "Complete Failure" reference is due to now I know where I can get a coil already to the size I need w/o having to worry about destroying a coil.

Yes sir. I think I might bring in some 1/4" for coiling too. Would be great for Jockey Boxes and smaller diameter coils going into conical fermenters.

I PBW'ed the immersion chiller and rinsed it. I used it on my 13.5 gallon kettle. I made a 10 gallon batch of miller clone. cooled the wort in 20ish minutes. I ran it for 30 minutes to be on the safe side. The wort was at room temp.
I love it.
People say copper is best. hog wash. Just get a 50 foot immersion chiller that has 1/2 inch tubing. I like it better then counter flow because I know its clean. Cools down majority of wort in no time too. good for 0 min hopp adds.

Yeah the first half went fast when I used it too. When winter time comes and the tap water cools down it should cut that time in half.

Just ordered from Zach today, he was extremely responsive and very friendly. We worked out a custom bend HERMS coil in less than two emails.
Looking forward to receiving the coil, will post the pictures of the final results.

Sorry for the delay, crazy day! The shipping is running about $18.00 average on these coils at only about 6-10lbs depending on the length. It really depends on your preference for the coil diameter. For a keggle I would go 12" or 14" depending on the keg size and how close you want it to the sides. I think I might go with a 12" diameter for the internal chiller setup I'm making.
