It's a little unfair to jump on Chi like that. They're butting heads with one of the biggest HB supply companies in the US...might be a little unreasonable for them to just give away a $600 piece of beer kit without a little compensation.

Doesn't mean they aren't allowed to run a similar competition. Obviously fewer people will be taking part in it (mainly due to the $100 minimum purchase), but it's not like they're stealing business from AHB.

Don't see any reason why it would be illegal, but I'm just pointing out that it's not a faux pas to hold contests for similar prizes.

I could get pretty rich pretty quickly if they were allowed to do that. I could "sell" a $1 item for $5, and include a "free" entry into a cash "contest", and loads of people would throw their money at it - just look at the people throwing money at government-run lotteries. There's a reason it's illegal.
