at my lhbs, fermentis products are currently $4.99 a packet, compared to $1.99 a packet for Nottingham, Windsor, et. al.

Any coinicidence that this coincides with some possible problems with Danstar Nottingham?

The whole appeal of S-05 to me is the cheapness and ease of use. Once it approaches liquid yeast prices it become muss less attractive.

+1. There have been times when I wanted to use something a little more particular but given the price it's like, eh, close enough. The higher it gets, the more likely I am to pay a couple more bucks to get exactly what I'm looking for.

Might as well just get some WLP001 (US-05) and WLP013 (English Ale) and wash those....

I agree. Much higher and they are starting to price themselves outside of my market. Perhaps another company will move in for some competition.

Highly doubt it. Fermentis is already way more expensive. I don't understand the logic.

Also, I can't speak for other stores whether they are going to raise the price or how much.
