Hey Everyone,
Its time to clean out the yeast fridge again! We have some stock of Wyeast that was made Oct 5 2011 (Six months ago Today!!!)that I dont want to sell as fresh yeast anymore so we are going to offer them at $4 a pack instead of throwing them out. Those of you that make starters know that they are just fine for up to a year as long as you are making a good starter. Below is a link to what we have now. It is much less than when we did this last. Check back often to see if we have anymore on sale. We will rotate them out as we need to. Once they are gone they are gone! Sorry the HBT discount will not apply to these yeasts. Of course I can in no way guarantee these past the 6 months that Wyeast guarantees them. Also, if you order only a small quantity of yeast, I will ship some of them via USPS Priority mail to try to not lose so much money in shipping this time around. I can usually get 2-3 in a small flat rate box if they are not swollen at all. Go ahead and place your order with the flat rate $7.99 shipping and if I can go USPS I will just refund you the difference. That way you are sure to be able to get what you want before they are sold out. This usually sells out fast so don't delay!

I still have some from last time but the WY 3522 Ardennes {sold out} I used made a nice beer. Drinkn it now (well, when I get home)! Thanks.

Midfielder5 I am glad you had great luck! I use them well over a year (with starters) in most cases and make damn fine beer!

Do you step the starters when they are that old? I would think that something that just expired I would pitch right into a 1.5ltr starter right? Do you do a discount if I bought 10 or more?

I step over a year but pitch a 1200ml starter anything shy of that. I can't discount any further unfortunately than this. I am already just covering losses at this point so any lower and I may as well keep them all for myself. Hope you understand.
