Default BrewVint Pre-chiller on Sale, $34.99!

BrewVint Pre-chiller on Sale, $34.99!

Summer is upon us! We can look forward to sweltering high temperatures this summer. Beat the heat with a BrewVint Pre-chiller. Many of you are probably already using an immersion chiller to chill your wort. Chances are the temperature of your tap water will rise as air temperatures rise. A BrewVint Pre-chiller will cool the water from your faucet before it enters your wort chiller. Regularly priced at $44.99, the BrewVint Pre-chiller is on sale for $34.99 for a limited time. Click here for more details.

Cheers!

For anyone not familiar with a pre-chiller, this graphic illustrates how it is used in conjunction with an immersion chiller.

Mine should arrive tomorrow and I'll give it a test run this weekend.
Anyone use this yet? My tap water is about 79-80 so the only way to get to pitching temps is to use the chiller to get it to 80 then a swamp cooler with ice. Even a sink full of ice with the chiller only gets 5-6 gallons to 80 in about 45 minutes. It would take another hour to get it down closer to 70-75. I hope this works for me.

Immersion chiller then an ice bath has been a huge pain as of late to get wort down to pitching temp; was just investigating using an ice water pump option (whirlpool chiller sans whirlpool), but the price of a pump was turning me off. Hopefully a bucket full of ice water + rock salt + this "pre-chiller" will do the job. Order on its way; thanks!

I use this pre-chiller with my plate chiller and get down below 60 with the texas summer tap temperature, it's great! Be careful with the rock salt idea, I did that too and if water isn't actually moving (before you start the chill process) you will freeze/stop up the flow inside the pre-chiller. Great tool!
